Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone only. Recomp makes zero network requests. Your data never leaves your device. All workout logs, meal entries, measurements, and mood check-ins are stored locally using Core Data.

Can I sync between devices?

Not currently. Your data lives on the device where you enter it. Cloud sync is not planned — keeping your data local is a deliberate design choice. If you switch phones, your data will not transfer unless you restore from an iCloud backup (which backs up the entire app, including its local database).

What's the difference between Simple and Granular workout tracking?

Simple mode: One tap to log that you trained. You select your program day (e.g., "Upper Body") and mark it as completed, modified, or missed. No set/rep tracking.

Granular mode: Full exercise logging with sets, reps, and weight. Track progressive overload over time.

Simple is the default. You can switch modes in Settings → Workout Tracking → Tracking Mode.

What are Pro features?

Features marked with a "PRO" badge are part of the premium tier, which will launch as a paid upgrade in a future update. In V1.0, all features are fully unlocked — the badges are informational only. Pro features include: correlation zone detection, journey timeline, HealthKit integration, chart overlays and markers, baseline meal planning, and data export.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

Does Recomp use AI?

No. Recomp does not use AI, machine learning models, or predictive algorithms. The correlation zone detection is simple statistical analysis: the app looks for periods where your logged behavior (meals, workouts, mood) correlates with changes in your waist measurements. All analysis runs locally on your device using basic math — no models, no servers, no guessing.

Can I export my data?

Coming soon (PRO). In Settings → Data Management, you will be able to export all your data as CSV files. This includes waist measurements, meals, workouts, mood entries, and daily ratings. The export is saved to your Files app, where you can share it orback it up however you like.
